TUAW’s Daily App: TiltShift Generator Free

I finally picked up an iPhone 4 last Friday, and one of the best things about the new handset is the beautiful shots I’ve taken with the camera. I’m not a professional photographer by any stretch, and people who have actually done tilt-shift photography might have a whole lot of bones to pick with the [...]

Ping Hits One Million Followers in 48 Hours – And Most Look Like Spam

Ping. I wasn’t sure if I cared about the announcement when I first heard about it last week. After all, I’m already deep into Facebook and Twitter, is there really any reason to add another social networking system to my list? Doesn’t anyone remember MySpace and the path they went down?
Anyways, I figured I’d still [...]Sep 6th, 2010 | Filed under AppleGazetteTags: 000 People, Apple Today Announced That, Cupertino California, Eminem, Facebook, Few Days, Followers, hits, Hours, Iphone, Launch, Like, Little Bit, Look, Marshal Bruce Mathers, Million, Most, Myspace, Networking System, One Million, Ping, Press Release, Privacy Features, Scammers, Social Networking, Spam, Today Announced That, Twitter -
Steve Jobs: Facebook had “onerous terms” for Ping

Steve Jobs was surprisingly candid with All Things Digital’s Kara Swisher yesterday — he reportedly told her that both Facebook and Apple had spoken about integrating more closely with the new iTunes social network Ping, but Facebook asked for “onerous terms that we could not agree to” regarding Facebook friends connecting on Ping.
He didn’t [...]

Thoughts on Apple’s Foray Into Social Networking

A view of a Ping profile
Social networks are king in 2010 and Apple is the latest company to jump on the bandwagon with Ping. Announced yesterday during Apple’s annual iPod event the Ping social network was described by Steve Jobs as “a new music orientated social network”. But with Apple’s strict policies on privacy, censorship [...]Sep 2nd, 2010 | Filed under World Of Apple BlogTags: Apple Ipod, Apple Networking, Apple’s, Bandwagon, Censorship, Element, Facebook, Focus, Foray, Freedom Ping, Friends Acquaintances, Friends And Family, into, Networking, New Music, People Find, Premise, profile, social, Social Networking, Steve Jobs, Strict Policies, Thoughts, Timeline, Tour Dates -

Booyah has released an iPhone and iPod touch version of its Facebook game, InCrowd, and it’s now available on the App Store. The app, like the very popular MyTown, uses location check-ins to create a game around social networking. But unlike MyTown, this app was originally released as a Facebook game. Booyah originally started InCrowd [...]

Facebook numbers revised: 44 million iOS app users, not 104 million

A few days ago, Facebook divulged the number of users of its mobile apps. The most impressive figure from their posting also turned out to be the most controversial — according to Facebook, more people were using its Facebook for iPhone app (104 million) than the actual number of iOS devices out there (around 100 [...]
